Meet your photographer, emily
CT Portrait + Wedding Photographer
Hi, I’m Emily — the face behind the camera of Lumen Dei Photo. I am a Connecticut‑based Catholic portrait and wedding photographer dedicated to capturing the joy, beauty, and dignity God places within every person and relationship. Lumen Dei serves couples, families, seniors, and individuals across Connecticut and New England, creating images that feel warm, natural, and rooted in authentic connection. I'm currently a student at the University of Connecticut studying Marketing and Psychology. When I'm not studying or working, you can find me trying new recipes, exercising or spending time outside! Whether you’re celebrating a milestone, documenting your family’s season of life, or preparing for a Catholic engagement or wedding, I’m here to create photographs that honor your story and reflect the love of Christ

our mission

Lumen Dei Photo’s mission is to thoughtfully document life’s meaningful moments with joy and intentionality, creating timeless images rooted in faith. Through our work, we aim to reveal the Light of God present in every season.
Core Values
Joy
Joy is at the heart of why memories matter. At Lumen Dei Photo, joy means celebrating life’s most meaningful moments, both the big milestones and the quiet, in-between. By creating a relaxed, uplifting experience, we help clients feel comfortable and present, allowing genuine emotion and connection to shine through every image.
Intention
Every moment deserves to be seen with care. Intentionality guides how we approach each session, from thoughtful preparation to the way we notice small details, expressions, and interactions.
Faith
Faith is a central part of our lives and shapes everything we do, including photography. It reminds us to see each moment as a blessing and to approach our work with gratitude for being entrusted with such incredible moments in clients' lives.
the name
explained...
“Lumen Dei” translates to “Light of God” in Latin
This name captures the essence of the Catholic faith through the use of Latin and the meaning behind it. Our goal is to capture the light of God in every session, and we chose the name to reflect just that!
